First of all, allow me clarify as a former president of a PIBG SKSBS 2007/2009. Now, PIBG SKSBS is an illegal entity. It is not registered with Registrar of Society and its formation is in direct violation of Malaysian Education ACT 1996 (ACT 550) and Education Regulation 1998 (Item No 57). I have highlighted this in my previous writing about PIBG in my blog.My children school is not a member of this association as it is an illegal entity. As far as I know, this is a few people with business and political affiliations setup this organization on their own. There is no annual meeting to select office bearers. In fact, the organization letter head uses Mr Assalam and Mr Balakrishnan house address and contact no. It does not have a proper secretariat. The crux of the matter is, I think it is a fallacy and a misrepresentation of facts if Mr Assalam and Mr balakrishnan claims that his illegal PIBG is vote by about 300 parents in school. Maybe he should show evidence that he was elected by an election process that involves representation of 300 parents. I wonder when was the last time they had conducted their AGM and when the next AGM would be. I have yet to see its constitution.What is also equally shocking is that headmaster itself endorses such organization indirectly by inviting them to attend the teacher meeting and discussion as well as many other school programs. The Ministry officials are in fact going against their own Education ACT and education regulation. It is no secret Mr Assalam and Mr Balakrishnan has got some special privileges because of his political affiliation.
PIBG , Parents Association and Teachers Welfare
Before any MOE or JPWPKL officials jump on me or try to pass a judgment or to start another round of investigation against me in running a school PIBG, please allow me to repeat that what is written is done in my personal capacity and reflects my own personal thoughts and it does not reflect the official position of any of the organization that I represent. PARENTS MUST RESPECT THOSE PROFESSIONALS AND DEDICATED TEACHERS ONLY!Please allow me to explain. In today’s environment where the numbers of jobless graduates are on the rise, we see many people chose the teaching profession for the sake of having a job. Teaching is their last priority. The first priority is to get a job, for that matter any safe job that can give a secure monthly salary every month to meet their needs. For that reason, All teacher at SK Seri Bintang Selatan choose to attack the PIBG for not paying them enough money in running extra class. In fact in this particular school, the Headmaster, threaten parents openly during a PIBG AGM if they chose to elect the incumbent PIBG committee, they (the teachers) will make life difficult for their children as they all claims that the teachers are the one with the students everyday in school and they can do a lot of things to them.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TEACHERS WELFARE - PIBG ? OR MOE
This is one of the many example on the kind of people that has become teachers in school. They all has such an unstable personality and what is even worst. Appears that MOE is not paying enough attention towards teacher’s welfare and that is why the “Kelab Kebajikan Guru” is now behaving like a union in this particular school demanding PIBG to take care of the welfare of the teachers.Dear all parents, should we be grateful to these types of teachers? They demand certain amount of payment to do extra classes. Another senior teacher can even say that it is not worth for them to do extra classes in school as when they do a part time training outside, they get paid RM40 - RM50 per hour and demanded to know why the PIBG is paying so low. They all felt that it is not worth for them to spend time to do extra classes for the weak students because financially it is not rewarding enough. Is it appropriate for me to respect and be grateful to this kind of teachers?Please spare me the time honoured phrase that “Kerana guru, anda berjaya di dalam hidup” and phrase like “ Guru ibarat lilin yang membakar diri menerangai hidup orang lain”. To all parents, please…….. I honour my teachers, I cry and hug them when I see them. I honour the teachers but I can no longer honour the profession. The profession has gone to the drain. Whether you agree to it or not, it is up to you make the assessment. I am sure you are married and have children and a parent yourself. Would you accept this kind of teachers to nurture your children?
TEACHING AS A PROFESSION HAS LOST ITS NOBILITY- WHO IS RESPONSIBLE - TEACHERS OR MOE OR PARENTS?
Why did I say that the profession has gone down the drains? Simply because, the good teachers do nothing to ensure that such bad characters to be weeded out among them in the profession. They just do what is expected out of them. They don’t want to enforce self regulation among themselves. They allow the bad seed to grow within the profession and now has tainted the nobility of the profession. It is so embarrassing when a teacher can remind her/his student of bringing gifts for Teachers Day or for their birthday. From the way the teachers are talking, probably MOE has failed to take care of teachers welfare. If that is the case, I suggest the Minister of Education looks into this matter quickly.Today, many parents at SK Seri Bintang Selatan have very little respect for most of the teachers at the school. There are very few people who deserve special mention and awards. Very few teachers who have shown exemplary conduct. My children’s teacher like cikgu rashdan is one of the rare few who is worth mentioning. There are a few others who deserve to be mention. The key word here is “few” . No one can improve the image of the profession. Only the teachers can. They have got to go back and find out how to earn their “colours’.
PARENTS ASSOCIATION OR PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATIONS
With regards to the letter written by Hussein Tan where he proposed the formation of Parents Association, I agree with him on the need of such Association. But I TOTALLY DISAGREE on the reasons that were put forward by him. Allow me to share some of my recent experience. I am one of the founding members who formed a Pro-Temp committee to form such Association (PERSIBA i.e. Persatuan Ibu Bapa or PA). In countries like Australia and US, PERSIBA play a major role in changing the way education is done. In Australia, today the focus is not on examinations but on skills and mental stimulations. Children are guided rather than being thought to memorize. There is no position in class. There is no numbers but just a rough guide where the students actually stand among peers. The pressure of getting No 1 is no longer there. Learning becomes fun. Children don’t want to skip school in fact they look forward to go to school.Parents Association must look at PIBG governance and the suitability of having a school board. The Parents Association should be able to guide parents about the actual roles and how PIBG is supposed to function.
PARENTS ASSOCIATION AND OVERBEARING HM - CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP A CULT?Let me share about the happening in SK Seri Bintang Selatan now. PIBG and teacher wanted to form a self counselling group which is called the Christian Fellowship. The Education department allows it. There are enough regulations that permit it but the Headmaster during a PIBG meeting called the “Christian Fellowship” a Cult and cannot be allowed in school. It doesn’t matter whether the laws allows it. It doesn’t matter that it is being done in other school for years. He will not allow it in his school. The Christian Fellowship is not about preaching Christianity but more towards self counselling among the Christians youth who face many adulthood changes in life. It does not open its doors to other students from other faith. It is restricted to Christians. What they want to do is to manage adulthood changes among boys and girls so that the children has an avenue to share their experience.
IS NATIONAL SCHOOLS BECOMING A RELIGIOUS SCHOOL?
However in the same school, they run short Islamic religious sermons during morning assembly. There is a DOA that everyone must listen. And on Friday morning, the reading of the Qurans is done in front of all the children irrespective of their religion. The only consolation is that the Non Muslim children are asked to sit at the back and ignore what is being read! Is this a logical and fair approach. This is where I don’t understand. I feel that If we as Muslims feel offended when we are forced to listen to Sermons by a Padre or the Pope, than we must respect others by not doing the same. The National Schools is slowly becoming a Islamic based Institution and not a place to learn science, maths and technical skills. It is slowly losing its appeal as the centre of learning.I have no qualms of schools having religious classes in fact I am supportive of it but I feel it should run separately from the main syllabus. In the 60s and 70s, I remember the religious classes are always done in the afternoon where I learn about the Quran, Pillars of Islam and other matters related to Islam. The non-Muslim children go to their own respective religious classes which are done by outside volunteers. Every religion had access to the use of the school facilities.
IS IT ACCEPTABLE AN INDIAN SWAMI OR A CHRISTIAN PRIEST GAVE RELIGIOUS SERMON FOR ALL (MUSLIM & NON MUSLIM CHILDREN) TO LISTEN ?
I want to ask MOE and in particular this SK Seri Bintang Selatan Headmaster. If you can give an opportunity to an Ustaz to conduct a mass prayer (Doa) where the non Muslims children are sitting at the back, would you accept a Hindu Swami (Priest) or a Christian Priest doing the same or a Buddhist Monk for that matter? Today, the Islamic infusion into schools has come to a stage where it becomes so uncomfortable among many non Muslim parents. There is a morning DOA where every student (irrespective of religion) has to attend during the assembly. On Friday’s there is an extra sermon being done in the morning. All Muslim children must learn Arabic even though it is an optional subject. It is made into a compulsion for all Muslims children.Muslim parents who want to enrol their children in other language classes has to go through a tough time as now the “Arabic language” is mandatory. Parents are required to write a letter to explain on why they don’t want their children to learn Arabic. This is happening in many schools. Non-Muslim parents are not happy but they have no choice but to swallow what is being done to their children. This is creating a chronic and serious Stress Fracture in National Unity.At this moment, the PIBG is beautiful on paper. In reality, most school heads run the organization and just gets the YDP to cut ribbons. The problem is, teachers at SK Seri Bintang Selatan “cepat merajuk” when they lose their arguments professionally. In a similar note some parents also behave the same. In many school PIBG is failing simply because parents/teachers don’t read the constitution and they don’t understand the role of the PIBG. Having said so, school heads and MOE should shoulder the bigger blame and force all PIBG to, have a standard constitution and not give too much power to the HM in running the PIBG. The power of the HM officially is as an advisor only but now it is like the “Advisor” who is running the show. The HM is now the “Advisor ++’Coming back to the main issue of having a Parent Association, my thought is yes, we must do it but with a clear bigger agenda to look into macro issues at the National Level and not at the micro level.

To parents who seem to be supporting Rafick’s attitude towards teachers, please allow me to comment:
How can you expect to motivate the teachers when you have a YDP who hates teachers and the teaching profession to start with.
The PIBG is supposed to be the bridge between teachers, parents and the school.
When you have a YDP who attacks teachers and the teaching profession in his blog, is that the right way towards building this bridge?
This self-centered YDP was more interested in destroying this bridge rather than building it. Having him as the YDP is as good as asking a wolf to look after your flock of sheep.
I thought that was so cowardly of the YDP to attack the teachers without them even knowing or having the recourse to counter the allegations made against them.
Sure, I can admit there are some bad teachers. But is it fair to lump them all into one.
Thus far, at SK Seri Bintang Selatan, I had only one really bad experience, that is with a teacher who apparently has a track record for physically abusing kids at the school, and my son being one of his victims.
I am all for discipline, but a teacher should not resort to uncontrolled disciplinary measures as it might cause serious injury to a child.
Apart from this “black mark” I must admit I am happy with the rest of the teachers that I had met or spoken to.
Parents must understand that teachers are human too.
You may be having three to four kids at home to watch over. Teachers have to cope with around 30 children per class with different personalities and abilities.
And don't forget, your child may be an angel at home but not necessarily in school.
Take the case of this Pengawas in Standard 5 who teases and taunt other kids in class, and is also very aggressive to the extent that he has no qualms to kick your child when he feels like it.
What kind of character and behavior did this child project to the school authorities for them to consider making him a Pengawas?
Whatever it is, he eventually revealed his inherent personality.
My son is a victim of his taunts and aggression and I have come to know that many others had been at the receiving end from this hooligan.
And he is still a Pengawas in spite of me having written in to the school.
So imagine teachers having to cope with these Jekyll and Hyde characters; angels at home but in actuality, a devil in disguise.
Being a teacher means they have to do more than teaching; there are other activities that they need to supervise or co-ordinate. If you had been talking to your child you would know what I mean.
Perhaps we should look at these issues from a total perspective before we form an opinion or pass judgment. It would not be fair to generalize.
As I had mentioned, teachers are as human as us. They have children, they have parents, grandparents, husbands, wives, etc.
Don't expect them to work for us for chicken feed; especially during these trying times. These are trying times for us as much as it is for them.
I am referring to the case where a teacher who represented his colleagues stood up to object the rates to be paid for extra classes.
I would like to ask parents: Would you work for peanuts?
Don't forget, like us, teachers also look forward to going home and spend quality time with their children and family, take them out and doing what most people would do.
You expect them to give up all these for some miserable and paltry wage? Would you?
Let us think, treat and respect others as humans and not some low life for us to exploit according to our whim and fancies or to satisfy our personal agenda.
Sure, this Rafick fella loves to whack everyone; the teachers, Bala, Khir Toyo, the education Minister and whoever that tickles his fancy.
But he exudes his bravery behind his computer and hand-phone by attacking and irritating people through e mails and text messages.
This was his tagline on his blog: “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it."
This is what I call pure and unadulterated bullshit coming from this man.
We saw what happened when the teacher stood up to exercise his right to speak on behalf of his colleagues. He was asked to leave the hall by none other than the man who is the self appointed President Of His One Man Fan Club.
By the way, a commentator from a blog thought that those words were from Rafick. For your information my friends, those words belong to Voltaire, the famous 18th. Century French philosopher; certainly not Rafick.
Rafick borrowed it to headline his blog, an obvious attempt to convince others that he has democratic principles. What a fallacy.
We all have seen all the open letters that Rafick had written.
This is a sort of my open letter to Rafick and I write this in response to his cowardly attack on the teachers which I thought was in bad taste and unbecoming of a YDP.

I will be writing to all parents not to support his cause and will reproduce some SMS messages to show that this is an attempt by a vile and vengeful juvenile minded individual who is trying his level best to disrupt the smooth operation of the PIBG.

If you had not been staying up too late too often, your clearer head would notice that I always put my name after my comments. So I hope that will put to rest the issue of “ nama samaran.”

But I won’t bother to find out who you are because I know who you are.
To satisfy your curiosity, you are right in saying I was a “penyokong kuat” of rafick. But that was then.
At that point of time I was convinced that he was the man to helm and steer the PIBG to greater heights.
Not only did I support him, but often make time to attend morning or night meetings with him and others in the run up to the PIBG elections where we eventually succeed to place rafick in the YDP seat.
I said we placed him there because he would not have been there without the unfailing support and work of the others and including me.
Unfortunately, after having secured the YDP position, the ugly side of this man slowly began to reveal itself.
If there is something that I detest is for someone to lie to get something out of me.
I am not very forgiving when it comes to lying. That is my upbringing.
I won’t go into further details as his behavior and track record speaks for itself.
On my part there is nothing personal; but rafick had made it personal.
That speaks so much for someone who espoused professionalism as his clarion call.
My comments on this site will enlighten you further on my perception of this man who now has degenerated into a repulsive side show as far as the PIBG is concerned.

Correction sikit.
Saya ke jabatan pelajaran bukan untuk tujuan buang Puan Rosita tetapi untuk menyokong pertubuhan PERSIBA.
Tidak pernah saya serang Pn. Rosita di meeting tu dan apa saya cakap di meeting itu adalah specific kapada menyokong penubuhan Persiba.
Berkenaan dengan hal peribadi saya, saya rasa awak salah dengar kot. Saya memang duda, kahwin sekali sahaja.
Boleh jadi awak confuse dengan cerita pasal rafick kahwin dengan perempuan Bengali lepas tu dia cerai pompuan Bengali tu dan kahwin orang melayu supaya dia boleh mengaku diri dia melayu dan taruk “Bin” lepas nama dia.
Itu lah cerita yang saya dengar. Betul atau tidak saya tak pasti kerana saya tak suka campur diri saya dengan hal peribadi orang.

Saya tidak pernah mengapi-apikan si rafick menentang Pn. Rosita.
Sebalik nya, rafick yang mengapi kita semua mengata Pn. Rosita dan Exco PIBG pada masa itu banyak rasuah.
Saya ni tak suka orang rasuah. Oleh sebab itu saya dan yang lain2 support si rafick ni. lebih sekali apabila accounts tidak di bentang betul2 pada AGM.
Yang bangang pada masa itu saya, mengikut cakap rafick. Tapi saya tak bangang terus.
Saya lihat takde pulak ACA datang investigate Pn. Rosita sungguh pun si rafick ni sibuk kata nak buat polis report lah, ACA report lah…
Selepas Pn. Rosita keluar dari SKSBS, saya ingat habis lah cerita.
Tetapi di tiap-tiap meeting yang saya hadiri, saya selalu dengar rafick bercakap dia nak “fix” Puan Rosita.
Mata saya pun mula terbuka. Si rafick ni betul ke nak memulih PIBG atau nak lepas dendam dengan Pn Rosita.
Pada apa yang saya lihat, dia ni ada agenda sendiri dan bukan untuk kepentingan PIBG.
Olehkerana dia telah getting “personal” rather than “professional” saya pun mula hilang percaya kapada rafick.
Apabila dia membohong dan menipu saya berkenaan dengan sumbangan ka PIBG, kepercayaan saya kapada mangkuk ni terus merosot.
Bila saya lihat focus dia ada lah untuk “fix” Pn. Rosita, saya sedar saya telah menyokong orang yang salah dan tidak jujur.
Kapada saya, Pn. Rosita sudah transfer cukup lah. Yang tak habis habis nak fix dia kenapa? Tiap kali kita ada meeting itu yang dia pentingkan.
Ada kah manusia macam ini kita hendak sebagai suatu Pemimpin?
Tak pernah saya lihat saorang pendendam yang burok sekali.
Saya tidak ada masaalah peribadi dengan rafick. Dia yang ada masaalah peribadi dengan saya sampai dia salahguna kuasa menggunakan Exco PIBG jumpa saya untuk menyelesaikan maasalah dia.
Kenapa dia takut jumpa saya? Kenapa suruh Exco PIBG sampai 6 atau 7 orang jumpa saya di Restaurant ABC?

Gaya penulisan tu gerenti en kamaruddin punya kerja.
Yang kedua, en kamaruddin kata yang en kamaruddin ini sebenarnya pentingkan pibg dan tidak ada kisah dengan dr rafik ini tapi tulisan terbaru jelas menunujukkan yang sebenarnya memang ada personal problem. Yang personal simpan la ..jangan kait dengan pibg.
pasal komputer saya tak tahu tapi nanti saya siasat.

The caste system of India placed pariahs, also known as Untouchables, very low in society.
2) Or any person or animal that is generally despised or avoided.
For example in the animal world: a pariah dog
An example from the human species : The cowardly scumbag who thinks he is a Malay and hides behind anonymity in this blog.
The human example as stated above represents the essential characteristics of what a true Pariah really is; much more than the dog from the animal world.
Evidently, even the dog fares better than the cowardly scumbag (who wants to be a Malay) in this respect.
At least dogs were useful in sniffing out victims from the Bukit Antarabangsa tragedy whilst the other was busy barking up the wrong tree and was told to shut up.

1. I have been report to public complaints bureau prime minister department, about a teacher in SK Seri Bintang Selatan that apparently had made a racist remarks against a several Indian Students.
2. First, I would like to say that I am appalled at the attitude of that teacher. As far as I am concern, she does not deserve to be a teacher. For that matter, I think he or she does not deserve to be a Malaysian. Her citizenship should be revoked and she should be sent back to wherever place his ancestor comes from….. mostly likely an Island within the Indonesian Archipelago.
3. I am equally appalled but not surprised by the action of the Department of Education in this matter, where apparently they had only reprimand her and asked her to apologize to the children and their parents. Further to that she was transferred to another school near her home. While to seek an apology is a right thing to do but the punishment is not enough for the crime he had committed. I say it again, this is a CRIME and possibly an act that goes again the PSD Regulations. Again I would like to say that I am not surprised of the NON ACTION especially where the KSU (Dato Kamarulzaman) whom I have the opportunity to interact some time back and had shown his poor level of management maturity in handling with the public.
4. Sometime in the early part of last year a teacher, Ustaz mazlan in the capacity of Pengerusi Kelab Guru in SK Seri Bintang Selatan threaten parents openly during a PIBG AGM and warned the parents the dire consequences if they elect a particular group of parents to sit on the PIBG committee. He explicitly and openly in the presence of 200 odd parents and the KL Dept of Education officers says that the teachers are close to the children and they can make life miserable for them. He asked the parents to think hard. He made this threat because he was not happy that the PIBG committee that provide financial incentives that is below his expectation for conducting extra classes. He too got away with it. He was investigated and after a few drop of tears he was warned and got away with it. He was not punished. His personal record was also not cited.What is even worst he is still in that school. Apparently his so called Ustaz title and his few drop of tears did the magic.
5. Because of the inaction or more appropriately non-action of the KL Department of Education and headmaster encik azhari, he is now regarded as a hero among a group of teachers in that school. The department and headmaster also fails to action against the Teachers Club Advisor, who is one of the GPK co-curicullum (puan manis bt samad) in that school, which is mine and many others opinion, is the main culprit in the teacher’s outburst. This particular teacher has work behind the scene divide the teachers and parents. What is even worst, a group of parents who seeks special treatment for their children in the school supported this teacher and the Advisor (One of the GPK). They felt the action of that teacher is not serious enough to warrant any action. This parents are equally guilty as the teacher.
6. Recently in another, teacher at SK Seri Bintang Selatan also apparently attempted to strip a boy in the computer room in a school. He too got away with it. He is still in that school and from what I hear his file has been labeled as NFA (No further action)
7. The message I am trying to deliver here is that do not mess with teachers or the Education Department. You cannot win. The department of Education will defend them irrespective of the teachers being good or bad. They will cover up. They will defend the teachers to their death when it comes to teachers. When in fact they must defend the name of the institution, they ended defended the personality.
8. I would like to quote an email that was sent to me by Dato Kamarulzaman (KSU KPM) which was CC copied to the KSN (Tan Sri Sidek) where I seek a formal reply on my complains against that SK Seri Bintang Selatan teacher . Dato Kamarulzaman in his email to me explicitly said ” Dont disturb my people” and he also wrote “Now I know you - in an insulting manner” because of my persistence and regular email to him to get an official reply from the ministry.
9. This is the scenario in the Education circle. Right or wrong, a person with the title teacher will be defended. This is the culture. I do not mind defending good teachers who has been wrongfully accused. But when the MOE/State Education Officers starts to defend a Public Servant whom had blatantly breaks the law, I expect action to be taken. Nothing less and it must be done by the book.
10. That is why I said that I am not surprised because of the KSU attitude. Because of these, I am not surprised and had expected that no action will be taken against the teacher who made the racial remarks when the story first surfaced. It does not matter whether there is a written regulation or otherwise. You can refer to my reference No 2 below. It is clear. Maybe the regulation is only good to be use as toilet paper. Why did I say this. Simply because the custodian of the regulation do not use them and they themselves are rude.
11. Overall, the education system in this country will continue to slide. The country will continue to slide into marked racial lines. Where the Ministers goes around the country preaching that education would be use to reduce the racial gap between all races in this country, the action of the various ministry action is to the contrary.
12. To the KSU of KPM, Dato Zulkarnain, I am going to ask again as the KSU of MOE as well as the Chairman of Bahagian Kaunseling dan Keutuhan; Are you going to follow the regulations or you want to continue warming up the chair.In my mind, you are one of the many and key people that contribute to the downgrading of the Education System. You are the propagator of “Kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga”. The problem begins with you just like the fish rot from the head. You are the NILA.
12. I want to quote what a KL Education Dept Head and headmaster says when issues related to problem between parents and teachers first appeared in my children school. I asked him why he defended this kind of irresponsible people. His answer was. “ …. Orang kita, kena lah jaga!” I don’t know whether he refers to the ethnic group of the teacher or or the profession.. I dared not asked. I wonder what will happen if an Indian pariah teacher had said some racial remarks about a malay boy. Could it be that the teacher probably be in Timbuktu by now? I wonder

It's true dr rafick khan. I'm strongly agree with you. Things like this happen in ALL Malaysian government school. We have one of the best education model in true world ( on PAPER ) our syllabus is fantastic BUT the application of the said model is -bad. Added to that incidence like that is rampage! There just does not seem to be a way out. The problem lies mostly from the Headmaster encik azhari to all staff of school.
This is the main reason why MALAYSIAN who can afford it put their children in alternative schools like SK Seri Bintang Utara.

I see some teachers are very dedicated....keep it up.I admire your good work.But..i am very sceptical about some teacher who do not bother to come into class on time and i know a few who seldom attend class.I just hope that this attitute will cahnge.
